Yolanda - the youngest sibling who has been taking care of our mom - is driving up in order to have me sign a cremation consent form and go over other paperwork. I just hope that she doesn't pass out from all of the work and stress. Fortunately, one of her sons is with her. (Abel's a great kid). They'll spend the night, then drive all the way back down to Southern Cal. *sigh* Note that this is the 3rd 100 degree day in a row up here.
There will be a small service in Southern Cal, before mom is flown up here for another service, then on to a family crypt she bought years ago. (For any of us who want to be buried there as well). No exact date, but most likely next weekend.
My worry is over my other sister - Soraya. Due to major family issues/fighting, she will not be at the service. Too much to get into, but suffice it to say that she has valid reasons. She completely fell apart when I called her with our mom's passing. Anyway - none of us want a fight at my mom's funeral.
I'm still on auto-pilot.

Just got a call from my nephew Damien and my sis Yolanda that my mom passed away today.
I held up pretty well until I called my sis Soraya, who fell apart me, causing me to do the same.
I'm pretty numb right now.

Thank you. I thought that I could go back to work today, but that was a joke. I thought that I had called my boss too, but I didn't. Was reminded when he called this morning asking if I was coming back to work today. I'm usually very organized, but not now. He understood, of course. Will go back to work next week (Plus, I'm still sorta' sick). The tentative date for my mom's funeral is Sept 16th.
